• Student Profile & Academic Records: Full name, date of birth, birth certificate, previous school records, curriculum assessments, and attendance logs.
• Parent / Caregiver Information: Full names, national ID/passport copies, physical address, email addresses, emergency telephone numbers, and authorized pickup designations.
• Child Health & Safety Records: Immunization records, dietary requirements, known allergies, medical emergency instructions, and doctor contacts.
• Caregiver Portal Credentials: Login identifiers, appointment scheduling history, and platform engagement logs.

3. How We Use Student & Caregiver Data

We use collected personal information solely for educational, safety, and administrative purposes, including:

• Delivering CBC curriculum teaching, developmental tracking, and personalized learning support.
• Facilitating direct parent-teacher communications, school newsletters, and academic progress updates.
• Ensuring child safety, managing medical response readiness, and verifying authorized campus pickups.
• Administering school fee billings, issuing official receipts, and managing admissions placements.

4. Photography, Video & Classroom Media Privacy

We celebrate student milestones and school events through photos and videos. Visual media is shared primarily within the protected Caregiver Portal for verified parents. Any public website media is curated responsibly with respect for child dignity and parental media consent preferences recorded during admission.

5. Information Sharing and Confidentiality

Maarifa School never sells, rents, or commercializes student or parent data. Information is disclosed only to accredited education ministry bodies as required by law, or to medical emergency providers during urgent healthcare situations.

6. Data Security and Record Retention

We implement strict digital access controls, SSL/TLS encryption for all web and portal transmissions, and locked physical storage for physical documents. Academic and admissions records are retained in compliance with statutory Kenya education regulations.

7. Your Rights as a Parent or Legal Guardian

Parents and legal guardians have the right under the Kenya Data Protection Act to review student personal information held by the school, request updates or corrections to contact details, and update emergency authorization lists at any time.
